This saber is being revealed for the first time. Back in 1981 when episode VI was in production, the DV sabers from Episode V were missing. That’s why the episode V vs ep VI sabers look different. An entirely new one was constructed using the original Graflex Roger created. It was a last minute effort to put something together, as Roger explains in the unboxing video.
Roger Christian who designed and created that first Graflex saber for George Lucas in 1976, and used the MPP for DV’s, was directing 2nd unit on Episode VI. He says that if he was the Set Decorator on VI as he was for IV, the opportunity to use an original design more compatible with the iconic villain was sadly missed, just as Luke’s was changed from V to VI, so would The Father’s in Roger’s design you see here today all these years later.
With the help of Theory Sabers and TXQ, THIS is the design that could have happened back then, a piece of history that comes from an old time.

- Retention Screws: Ensure screws are properly installed and not over tightened. Damage to screw heads by overtightening will cause issues with removing your blade and is NOT covered under warranty.

Polarity: Align + and - symbols correctly to prevent damage.
Charging: Use a 5V 1A adapter only. Charge for 3-4 hours max; do not charge overnight.
Warranty: Damage from dueling is not covered.
Blade Use: Insert the blade before powering on. Avoid twisting to prevent damage.
Core Installation: Do not twist the core when inserting to avoid pin damage.
Hilt Handling: Do not unscrew the hilt from the middle section.
Customization: Modifications that alter files or damage the board void the warranty and are non-refundable
What “Empty – No Electronics” Means?
- Blade: Not included. You’ll need to source or make your own blade.
- Electronics: No wiring, LEDs, or soundboards—empty chassis only.
- Sound Fonts: Even if “Mark 1 - Free” appears in sound-font dropdowns, no sound-font files (SD cards) are shipped or billed.
Tip: Empty hilts are ideal if you already own electronics or want to build a custom saber from scratch. If you expected a complete plug-and-play saber, please choose one of our “Fully Loaded” or “Complete Kit” listings instead.

What can I say? The craftsmanship of this saber is truly a work of art. Truly impressive. I've only started collecting sabers since August 2025. I now own five, and this is by far my favorite and most treasured piece. I received it after nearly two weeks. It's number 365/500 as of March 2026. This is my very first saber from Theory Sabers, and I couldn't be more pleased. My only gripe is that there's no covertec clip or belt hanger to attach it to my belt. I would love to wear this at a comic con. But don't let that sway you—it was well worth the money spent. One more thing: The micro SD card could not be read by the Proffie board inside the hilt. Luckily, I had a spare. I transferred the fonts over, and it fired right up. Again, I love this saber.

I recently received The Father lightsaber (mine is #348/500), and overall I absolutely love it. The design is beautiful, the detailing is incredible, and the signed plaque from Roger Christian makes it feel like a truly special collector’s piece.
I did notice one issue, though. When the volume is turned all the way up, I hear a noticeable static or crackling sound when I swing the saber. It only seems to happen at maximum volume. When I lower the volume slightly, the static disappears and the sound is clear again.
I’m not sure if this is normal at higher volume levels or if it’s something specific to my unit, but I wanted to mention it. I prefer having the volume turned up for the full experience, so the static at max volume is a bit disappointing.
Aside from that, the saber looks fantastic and feels premium. I’m very happy with it overall — just hoping this audio issue can be clarified or improved. I’ve attached a video demonstrating the issue so it can be clearly heard.

Regarding the audio concern, this is not a normal performance characteristic. In most cases, sound distortion at maximum volume is related to the battery not being fully charged or the saber not being charged correctly before use.

Absolutely love it probably the coolest lighsaber I will ever own. Unfortunately there is one issue and I believe I'm not the only one but my kyber crystal arrived broken an still waiting on a new one to arrive. Hope it does I thought I read a review with the same issue but seems that they got their replacement quite quickly. You customer service has been great though.
